The Camino de Santiago de Compostela, also known in English as The Way of St James, is a collection of old pilgrimage routes which cover all of Europe - but which all have Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain as their final destination. For more than 1,000 years pilgrims have been walking along the Camino de Santiago.
I've collected a number of links here to more information about this amazing pilgrimage route. I will be taking the route known as Camino Frances, from Roncesvalles to Santiago de Compostela.
The most comprehensive site that I've found is here, at santiago-compostela.net. I've linked directly to the Camino Frances portion of the pilgrimage route, but you might be interested in exploring some of the other routes. This site is filled with pictures of the various stops along the route, so when I actually get there, you'll have an idea of where I am and what I'll be seeing!
This site, El Camino de Santiago, has a number of maps of the various routes. And their description of one day in el Camino de Santiago intrigues me!
And when I get a little time, I'll customize this to where we plan to stay ... http://www.godesalco.com/plan/frances
